[Johnathan on...] Dreams

The body is but a vessel, but the mind is just as much a vessel. When we sleep our brain lights up and dims down, seemingly random activation can bring about a conscious experience while the rest of our mind sleeps. This is what happens when we dream. We, the individual, the owner of our consciousness remains awake. And in this new world we may visit places in the past or future. We may talk to old friends or even exploit our own mind. This is quite the gift, the gift of dreams. The gift of another world to escape to, the world within all of us.

Lucid dreaming is an art. It is the practice of controlling ones own mind. In lucid dreams the dreamer may choose to do whatever he likes, given the skill required for it. Ever wanted to fly? Well I've done just that. In my own mind; and trust me it feels more real than one can imagine. Because of how we perceive our waking reality, in the form of a projection onto our own consciousness; the real world is as real as unicorns. Everything that we are is simply a photograph that is printed out for us to view. The real image is impossible to see, only the observation of the object may be viewed. And there is a difference, I don't see the apple; i see the light bouncing off of a complex surface, absorbing and reflecting a specific amount of light. And "I" don't even see this! This is what my eyes see. I see the information gathered from this observation, an assembled projection. One of what the apple SHOULD look like.
With this in mind, wouldn't you say your dream perception is no different? Better even? In a dream one sees the same projection like "conscious experience", but this information comes from information itself! There is no outside source to be "assumed" into shape. It is simply your relentless thoughts surfacing into a conscious world. When one is in control of this world, when one is "lucid"; one is transcending the ordinary conscious experience and USING it to control the thoughts themselves, much like in waking life, but these thoughts are different. These thoughts are what make the dream itself, what gives it shape, characters, and setting. Controlling such a reality with conscious thought alone. One becomes God of this new land, in every way imaginable.
The only difference it seems, between waking life and dream life is an idea of something physical and responsible for this initial information. The Universe looking at itself, looking at you.
